Pay It Forward - August 19, 2009
I have a lot of paying work and I feel lucky to have it in this economy. It keeps me busy and "off the streets" as my Grandmother Dorothy likes to say. I believe in Karma. I don't have tons of cash to donate and I don't have tons of time either. So I decided to donate my design skills to a non-profit organization, B.A.S.E. Camp Children's Cancer Fund. So far I have designed one of their forms and I'm now working on a brochure. You can visit their site at BASE Camp. I hope to continue the relationship with them since I think what they are doing is magnificent. Having been a family member of someone who passed away from cancer, I can understand the pain that some of these families are going through. I just want to help... even if it's just a little bit. Almost Done! - June 23, 2009
I'm on the horizon of completing a brand new logo for a skincare company and I'm very excited about this one. I will have Links and Photos posted as soon as the logos are finalized. The Logos (once finalized) will be off to the printer for labels and other forms of collateral before we have a chance to collaberate on a complete redesign. Currently finishing coding a PHP website (WOO HOO!!!), and wrapping up some print Direct Mail work. My next round of work involves designing and coding two HTML, CSS and PHP websites (with FLASH headers), and another Logo... I LOVE being busy!

Another Gold! - April 15, 2009
Monday I received word that I won a Regional Gold Addy Award for my Volkswagen Beetle Brochure. Since the award is a gold, the brochure will automatically be entered into the National Addy Awards. I really hope that I win something at Nationals. This is so exciting! The regional awards ceremony is on May 16, 2009 and I am debating whether or not to attend. I think that it would be a great opportunity to hobnob with the other industry professionals in the District Four region... OK so maybe I just talked myself into going!
The Addy Awards!
In February of 2009, I won 11 Addy Awards (Awards from the American Advertising Federation). I was the recipient of the Best In Show, three Gold Addys and seven Silver Addys. I'm excited to see what happens during the Addy Award regional competition in May... and the national competition in June!!
